Postcards

Post by sarahp »

Hi all, I am HolidayCottage on Twitter, have been recommended to get chatting on LMH but not sure I can do this AND twitter!!
Anyway I would like some postcards too please :D
I have emailed Tricia to enquire as recommended by Thomas.
Any chance those of you who have already had postcards can put an image of them on Twitpic??
Just an idea.

I nearly missed out because I only saw posts about things being in the experimental stage and only discovered it was actually going ahead when I asked. In the mass of posts on LMH, it is easy for things to be missed.
Yes, point taken Margaret but in my defense I was rather taken aback by the amount of interest. I also had names who didn't come back to me so was reluctant to contact individually, as the last thing I wanted was to come over 'hard sell' to my friends but appreciate that some missed out by my being 'wooly'

Hello Sarah, firstly, welcome to LMH. I have your e-mail & will respond directly.

Btw, LMH is sooooo much easier than Twitter, being a chatterbox I do find 140 characters rather difficult

BS thank you for the tweet ! Thomas thank you for the recommendation

Tricia, I have neither the time nor the technical know how to upload prints of our postcards but if you have both I am quite happy for you to use some or all of ours to show here as examples.

Thanks for the offer Margaret but having just discussed it what we've decided to do is send a low res pdf of some that were made to interested parties, I will also post a link to the site once it's up and running.

Jim, e-mail on it's way soon my lovely :P but yes, it's quite possible to follow the lead of one rather creative LMH'er and make your own montage (I'm sure you have the technical know how) to slot in to a 1 pic postcard, but remember the bleed !

This is mine if people want an idea of what they are like, although it probably doesn't show the resolution as well as it is in real life.

Perhaps a touch of the absent minded genius there Richard
But thanks to you we have made changes, so it's all good.

tee hee. Its template 006 - simple one image.

I made the single image with the montage as one single jpeg, then uploaded that.

And now for the big secret:

Making the montage is incredibly simple in Picassa. You can select all the pictures, choose one as a background, add others, resize, rotate, move them and then save as one single jpg file.

Not a single PaintShop pro step involved (unless you wanted to retouch the originals)
