BT Yahoo Broadband problem

OK Techies, this should be a nice simple one for you

Every now and then, when I launch my BT Yahoo browser, instead of getting BT Yahoo (dot) com
their UK and Ireland page loads, which is completely different to the one I normally see.
I'm not so bothered about that, as the apparent loss of all of my (many) bookmarks.
Clicking on 'bookmarks allows me to add, or edit, but my own aren't there.
Could someone just tell me how to retrieve them, or how to set the other homepage as the default.
