There is alot your not told...hopefully people reading some of these posts will be a bit more informed than we were......
When we were thinking of mortgaging the houses in Spain[because of the High Inheritance tax if one of us dies[another thing people need to be aware of]....
The banks in Spain werent offering them then.
[they couldnt understand why youd want to but a house you already owned....]
My builder kindly offered to pretend we hadnt bought them we could sign them back to him ..and then he would sell them to us again....[of course he said he would rip up the documents saying he owned them]....
Surprisingly
we didnt take him up on his kind offer..... 
...much to his surprise 
...anyway if it had been done as you say how would we have explained the money we had come into........ ...
