I think most people will by now be acquainted with the painkiller that has been affecting British people in Spain. It is important to know that it comes with different brand names. I read that it is Nolatil and is widely available in Spain. For some unknown reason it can be disastrous for Brits.I recently had a hernia operation and was sent home with a strip of Paracetomol, one of Ibuprofen and one of Metamizol. I didn't have great pain so I didn't take the Paracetomol or Metamizol. So they just went into the medicine box. Imagine my shock when I discovered that Metamizol and Nolatil appear to be the same drug. And also Metalgial.

I was given Metamizol in hospital after an operation , I tried to explain that I didn't want it , this was difficult as its not easy to try and explain why, I showed them a newspaper cutting but they just shrugged, and just kept on giving it to me so I just disposed of them
