Bin collection

Agencies and other headaches, keys and cleaners, running costs and contracts...in short, all the things we spend so much of our time doing behind the scenes.<br>

Bin collection

Post by Rosehill »

Our bins are emptied on a Thursday but our change over is Saturday. This means the previous guests rubbish is still in the bins when the new guests arrive. Also it does not seem right to ask the guests to take the bins out in Thursday before the cleaners arrive on Saturday. We are remote owners so cannot empty them. Also the house is by the sea and the recycling boxes only have net covers which are vulnerable to sea gulls if left outside. How do others deal with bin collection? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I imagine you should be using a commercial waste company to collect your rubbish, rather than the council's service being a holiday let business. You can have any arrangement you like with a commercial company.

Is there nowhere to put wheelie bins within your property? If you use a wheelie bin for the recycling this avoids the problem of the boxes.

The bin collectors would not empty wheelie bins. In the torbay area the recycling waste is picked up by a lorry which is designed to empty the boxes provided.
