Independent Cottages going

Post by newtimber »

Just received the disappointing news that Independent Cottages has been bought by SnapTrip. Looking at their websites, they just seem to be pooling together properties from other agencies and charging commission.

Agree it is disappointing news.
I have just had a 'look' on Trustpilot and there are some negative comments regarding SnapTrip.
It may be 'early days' but I suspect we will be looking to advertise with another company.

I'm thinking of still giving IC a first try. Although they're now part of the SnapTrip group they claim that they're maintaining the same trading style and business model, ie.. annual subscription, direct contact and payment between homeowner and holidaymaker, no extra commissions/charges etc.. It's that or Simply Owners, although we might end up going with both.
