When might we be able to take guests again in Andalucia?

Post by dixeady »

Does anyone have any insider information? All I've read is that Pedro Sanchez isn't likely to let visitors fly in from the UK, because of our virus stats/variants, until after the end of August. Even though we're the ones who are getting vaccinated! Are we write off another whole summer?

I suspect few Brits will be going anywhere abroad this coming Summer.

24 hour notice of changes to the UK making country restrictions. Thousands of pounds for private PCRs and 10 years behind bars for making a false decoration. Could well put a lot off.
Spain is said to be asking, yet again for Covid passports even if it is against the ideas of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The lockdown regulations are no longer down to The Spanish government. Each Comunidad Autónoma has it's own ideas on what should and should not be done.
Never try to out-stubborn your guests.

Hi CSE - the central government has approved a list of measures that each autonomous community can choose to apply.

It is true that each autonomous community has different ideas about what they would like to do - but any measures applied must be approved by the central government.

Andalusia has announced a Covid insurance for non Spanish residents. It is free and does not need to be registered for beforehand. The guests need to be staying in registered approved accommodation.
It covers medical, hospitalisation, repatriation and extended hotel stays amongst other things.

Details are here.

Thanks Vera, that's very interesting. Free hotel quarantine, no less!
