Text enquiry response to Facebook ad

Post scam emails to warn other rental owners, or if you are not sure if an enquiry is genuine, put it up here and see what others think.

Text enquiry response to Facebook ad

Post by Ben McNevis »

This is a new one to me, so I thought I'd mention it:

I get a text on my phone:
Hi,
Is your ad on Facebook still available?
https://fb-ads-9291112.000webhostapp.com/id/manager/
and, as you'd expect, it leads to a fake FB login page. I've changed one digit in the URL to ensure that it doesn't work.

What I don't know is whether this goes to random phone numbers as it doesn't even mention "your place", whether my phone number was actually picked up from a facebook ad, or whether it is targeted at rental owners. We haven't done any facebook ads for many months, so I guess it's just random.
Cheers, Ben
