Using old analogue tv ariel for digital

Post by cornmek1 »

Brittany based.

Should this work ? I remember the old tv set received the analogue signal fine - but when trying to get a digital signal on my digital (uk) tv - albeit with French settings - I got nothing.

Is the new signal too weak for old terrestial ariels ?

I didnt want to waste the money on a TNT box if I need to raise another satellite dish first.

regards

I think the French digital service uses a different part of the spectrum. When the digital service first came in my UK Freeview-enabled TV ceased to get most French channels, only 3 or 4 where the frequency range overlapped the UK standard.

I bought a cheap TNT adapter from Amazon for about 25 Euros and it worked fine.

In Spain the TV signals are going to be changed to to the introduction of 5G. Will the same happen in France?
