Selling Estuary House in Brittany

After 12 years of renting Estuary House, we've finally decided to sell up. We haven't put it out there yet so you're the first to know :D

If anyone's interested or know someone who'd like to take it over then we're looking for £300k, fully furnished as mostly seen here. Haven't got a dedicated 'selling' page up yet though.

It's time for the next chapter in our lives but it'll be a sad, sad day when we hand the keys over to a new owner.

Any hints and tips on selling a property in France will be greatly appreciated too. :D

 Thanks Rog! We're heading towards retirement and finding the annual maintenance trips harder and harder each year. We don't have holidays other than there, working holidays, and would like to explore more of the world.

Lovely place Kathy. Good luck with the sale.

We too have put ours up for sale for the same reason...much as ibiza is gorgeous and has been very good for us, we too want to explore other places from a base where we can get flights all year round other than between May and Sept.

Fingers crossed for both of us.

Ooh good luck to you too Jaki! I see you've both been out and about a lot more lately :D

We haven't actually put it on the market yet, dithering about whether to do it now with a local agent but then viewings can only be on changeover day and that will seriously p**s off the cleaners, or wait till the autumn when I should already have loads of bookings for next year and might even sell to someone who doesn't want it as a holiday let. Decisions, decisions!

Yes that's a tricky one Kathy. Ideally we'd like to sell next year but you can never call it in this market. We were told serious buyers come out either side of the main season....our main issue is the flights, as they don't really start until after Easter. So we are hoping to get a presence in the market now before rentals start and then in the autumn. I believe it can be a long process. Our likely buyer won't be local.

So on top of changeovers I fear we too will be managing viewings! Oh dear....what have we done

Good luck to you both I hope it is a smooth process and it works out for you both. I think summertime is a good time to sell/buy but I know viewings can be difficult. so best of luck..

I hope you two aren’t going to desert us here on LMH. I’d miss Jaki’s level headed contributions, and I'd miss Kathy’s contributions as well ;-)

Good luck and hope it all goes smoothly.

Good luck Kathy and Mouse, it's like an end of an era for some of us old "hatters".
After 17 years I think we're drawing to a close too at Lily Cottage in Northumberland as the property was always intended as part of our pensions. Not quite yet though, I'm sure we'll know when the time is right.

Aww thanks everyone and that's a lovely compliment GB! Thank you. In fact we are looking at heading your way just a little bit further south...so I might be picking your brain when the time comes.

Sorry to hear the time is coming for Lily Cottage Sue. I'm sure you will sell in a heartbeat. Like Kathy's your place has that certain something.

'Times they are a changin' for some of us.

Thanks, Mouse! I think we're all getting to "a certain age". :-)
