Calender Syncing ICal.

Post by cleanforum »

Can´t seem to find this info anywhere. Can anyone tell me;

Do ABB, TA, HA etc automatically sync to the ICal calenders which we specify?

or do I have to sync them manually in the dashboard?

If they are automatically syncronised how often is this done?

Thanks.

I have found TA and Airbnb synchronize automatically and pretty much straight away. For some reason HA needs you to go into the dashboard and manually click "calendar up to date" which is a bit of a nuisance.

They all sync automatically so that your calendars are indeed "up to date".

With HomeAway, your underlying calendar is actually updated with dates blocked out etc., but not acknowledged. You need to click in your dashboard so that the text display changes to "up to date" - sigh !

Also, thanks to Essar, here is the frequency of updates

HA et al = every 4 hours
TA et al = every 4 hours
AB = every 2 hours
RO = every 24 hours
VHR = twice a day (?)
BC = manually or instantly via a channel manager (not iCal)
TM = every 24 hours
AO = every 6 hours
HE = every 8 hours

Do they "know" how many other sites you advertise on?

Or do you have to tell them somehow?

You specify a url of your chosen master ICal site to each and every site that you advertise on and then "they" update at their leisure....I think

In my case I have used the Ical url from my PMP site calender and this one feeds into the rest.

So I always update the PMP site for every rental. I don´t mind that as long as all the others are covered.

Each listing site links to your provided iCal url and updates their calendars for your properties. They have no idea who else uses the same source.

However, you must be careful which source you provide; as some only provide in the iCal file those bookings taken on their site and not the ones you handballed in yourself.
