Some nice stuff from me for a change .....

Post by Annew »

.... I'm usually venting my spleen via LMH (thx everyone who listens!)

But ... I thought I'd share some lovely stuff for a change

1. New cleaning team (individually recruited and controlled entirely by me) started today. Wonderful girls, such fun and so efficient. I've never enjoyed a double changeover so much and never again will I employ a cleaning company who pays their cleaners minimum wage then charges me £16.75 per man hour!

2. This year's summer guests are turning out to be a lovely bunch, even MrAnneW (AKA the childcatcher) is loving them

3. Increased damage deposits to guests have resulted in hardly any damage or breakages this year so far (touch wood) despite taking more hen and stag parties

4. Since deciding to take weekend bookings/short breaks all year round, bookings, turnover, and profit is up YoY

5. Guest who caused damage last year paid up without my needing to go to court (yes folks - stick to your guns and keep writing letter after letter stating the facts!) Yipeee!!

6. Wifi is working wonderfully since we upgraded all our kit, set up network zones and now give 1 password per device - capped at 10 per cottage. We are due to beta test superfast broadband (unfortunately it'll never be FTTP just FTTC) in November so hopefully things will get even better.

7. All other downs (health & family problems etc) that one or two of you know all about have turned to ups - time to get on with living my life and everything else now!

That is all :-)

Lovely to hear Annew, especially about the cleaning team. My heart is always in my mouth when I read statuses such as you posted.

Short breaks all year round, welcome to my world. :)

Hope all the family and health stuff is on the up xx
