We did it! - bought our project
Hello - I am a short time lurker. This week we just completed on the purchase of a massive project on Anglesey.
It is a small holding consisting of a farmhouse, cottage and lots of barns for conversion.
There is no mains water, electrics out of the arc and sewerage needs all redoing but its now ours and the hard work begins.
I have already gathered so much information from this site on the do's and don'ts but will no doubt be asking lots of questions in the future.
Thanks in advance for all your help I will no doubt ask for!!

Welcome, AngleseyNewGirl! And congratulations.
Lots of us have been there ... it's fun and hair-raising and frustrating and exciting. It'll take you three times as long as you expect and cost you twice as much - but you'll look back on the whole process with huge nostalgia. At least we did, so much so that we're doing it all over again

Congrats from me too.
and again and again. It's addictive. I'm a little jealous as I've been looking for a new project for months and the only ones I find are too far away. If only we lived in Scotland!French Cricket wrote: ... so much so that we're doing it all over again

Welcome to the gang.
That's the easy bit done, now starts your hard work.
I suggest you start a facebook page or blog to show progress - it can be linked to your own website later. Many guests are interested in the back history of the property they are staying in, and a conversion is always especially interesting.

Congratulations! I stayed at a B&B in St Ives that had a blog about their adventures in moving from London to Cornwall. It swayed me in the booking process and I'd read it cover to cover by the time we stayed. Sadly they moved on to other adventures before we could return but it made our stay there a little more memorable. It's an excellent, sometimes overlooked part of starting on a project, that is brilliant marketing in the early stages of the business. We all love to be nosey.
