General opinions of the viability of the B & B trade in

I'm thinking of setting up a b & b in Evesham, Worcestershire overlooking the river - thought that tourism was fairly good but talking to an existing owner who is retiring she is advising against it as low cost travel lodges on the outskirts of town are taking the trade and because of the state of the country people are not taking weekend breaks as much. Also foreign tourism dried up a while ago so I've been told. Does anybody have any advice or views please.
