Have you also looked at the part of this forum covering the UK?
I would recommend Booking.com. Good customer service for both the owner and the guest. However it is a bit expensive, but that does translate into great advertising coverage.
Never try to out-stubborn your guests.

do you know how much booking dot com charge, i have tried to contact them this morning and have given up, sent and email but i first have to complet some form and it says someone will call, but as i am not back in the uk until next week , will leave it

i have heard its around 15%
