Does anyone know of a car insurance that allows you to stay abroad for about 4 months at the time without having to return to the UK?
We are with Saga and they provide that but will not ensure our son when he vists because he is only 26

Actually under EU regulations insurances companies have to cover you for the entire trip. The “trick” that the U.K. companies have up their sleeve is they do not cover what you are paying for. i.e. it is just he bear minimum cover to make it legal.
My only suggestion is to look at who cover motor homes or even commercial vehicles as they usually are in mainland Europe for long or multiple periods.
