Post by ianthy »

We are considering a property in Dubai for rental purposes and would like to hear from forum members that have a rental property in Dubai.

Isn't is supposed to be a saturated market? I've heard lots of people have had their fingers burned so do be careful

I lived there for 5 years quite a long while ago when you couldn't buy property if you were an expat.

I still keep in touch with friends still there and in Qatar.
I agree with Mouse - be very wary.
Abu Dhabi would be better, far more financially stable and they are the ones who keep bailing Dubai out, but that can only go on for so long.
I had a regular guest for four years who used to work there in finance - he would visit us twice a year sometimes and do his work from here. I haven't seen him this year and we both knew why - his time was limited, we discussed it before he went out for the last time. He had quite a few stories to tell me as an insider and kept me well updated- fascinating stuff.
You need workers for rentals.
