Thanks for this, Ian & Irene. Been looking at it today and it showed up a few issues with my site. Hopefully I'll be able to get them resolved. Moira :)

hmm, not bad, but wish I knew what it all meant and how important it is.

I could help with some of the decoding of the results but I cannot see your website.

HI, I've removed the link from here, so that I can see properly what the traffic to my site is, LMH visits were skewing it somewhat.
Site is www.chamoissiere.co.uk .

Helen,
Errors which is said to need correcting:
Meta tag – Title: The title contains stop words that are ignored by the most search engines. Things like in & etc
The code it refers to is <title>Ski apartment with pool in Serre Chevalier - Chalet Chamoissiere</title>

Meta tag – Keywords: The keywords meta tag contains 16 keywords / keyphrases which are too many.
The code it refers to is <meta id="ctl00_keywords" name="keywords" content="ski apartment rentals, chalet, pool, ski, apartment, snowboarding, serre chevalier, monetier-les-bains, thermal spa, cycling, tour de france, mountain biking, VTT, appartement T2, family skiing, " />

Some of the alt tags for photos you have could be written a bit better. Things like “mountain views” I would ask what mountains? The report also says that picture sizes matter. I have not checked the size of the ones on your website to see if they are the same as suggested.

There are very few H1, H2 or H3(etc) phase tags. This is important for SEO.

On this website it shows you basically the same errors.
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http% ... sp=&noatt=
However some of the coding errors it has thrown up are related to things like JavaScript. This confuses me, as these should be acceptable. I would not change most of the errors. Having said that if you feel brave enough this link does show how to correct the errors.

I personally think most of the coding is ok...even if you cannot ware that valuator badge.
