Is a Visit England Quality grading worth it?

Post by Joanna »

I know this has been discussed before but I wonder if things have changed.
We have one cottage graded by the AA through their star scheme which is fine - we can put happily put '4 star' accommodation on our marketing materials. The renewal is due in January so I was just checking what the difference is with the Visit England grading scheme. The AA actually run the Visit England scheme too but the pricing to join VE looks like it would be nearly 3 times what we're paying the AA. So, it seems like a no brainer, but just wondering if I'm missing something here - anybody have any experience of VE grading? Is it worth the extra money?

You need it if you want to advertise on Premier Cottages. Can't see any other advantage. They do now have a website where you can actually book accommodation rated by them, but I don't think it'll appear in any normal search by guests.
