Holiday Travel now officially classed 'non-essential'

Post by Andy & Lana »

The government has finally clarified that travel to second homes, holiday venues, etc., is deemed to be 'non-essential':

"Sunday evening, the government issued a further statement, clarifying its advice that "people should avoid travelling unless it is essential".

Essential travel, the Department for Health and Social Care said, "does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays"."

We have just emailed the only two remaining bookings in our diary for the next eight weeks, inviting them to reconsider their plans, cancel their existing bookings and postpone them to a later date, TBD...
....we will review accordingly week-to-week, and send similar messages to the next batch of bookings as and when appropriate, until the situation improves...
Took the plunge, bought a guest house!
