The transfer of a meaning of a subject to another subject must be accurately portrayed, then the cognitive process defines the analogy of the two compared subjects, otherwise the analogy is meaningless. Analogies are therefore always bad regardless of how good they are! Why is there no analogy for a...

No doubt; in the future take a security/damage deposit. However, you are running a business and these people owe you money for the wood, etc. It doesn't really matter how small an amount it is, it's a debt that they should have paid. Regardless, of whether they had a lousy holiday or not (sounds lik...

2017 Interesting Year For Listing Sites

Airbnb buys Luxury Retreats - moving away from "sleep in the fridge" cool small accommodation provider. Booking.com getting priced out by small App providers like BidRoom. TripAdvisor now a likely takeover target - PriceLine and Expedia look favourites. Review site to ota not working out a...

BC are not compliant. It is up to the card processor to be compliant. I use FreeToBook as my channel manager and through them the FabPay system. The card payments are processed through WorldPay. Even though the card details are available to me on the BC extranet for up to 7-days/3-views I never need...

I would look at from the point of view of the other facilities you have; is the kitchen big enough for a small family or two couples to cook and eat, and most importantly the bathing facilities - how big is the bathroom, does it have a separate shower or shower over the bath? Think about how four ad...

The skirted ones tend to be elasticatified around the mattress and/or base, the flat ones with a corner strap are the Ikea ones. I prefer the first ones.

Gosh Essar, not all of us want to watch Top Gear :) I love the sight seeing food combo. In this crazy world it's so relaxing and reassuring. I've never seen Top Gear either or any other reality/celebrity/Khardigans or anyone elses "watch me" show. One or two cookery shows would be watchab...

I don't get cookery shows.

As you say BBeu is an affilliate of BC. This is not unusual; there are over 5000 BC affilliates. All of these sites take all or a part of the BC listings and include them on their own listing site, in return they use BC as the primary site for booking and payment and get a share of the BC commission...

Impressive looking numbers at first glance. But a return of view>enquiry>booking at 0.24% & 0.17% would perhaps suggest an inordinately high number of idle browsers even when toeing the line. Admittedly, I'm one who 'really (really) dislikes' the business model de rigeur & will never embrac...

Did you really mean 2016?

I thought I would resurrect this old thread rather than start a new one on a similar topic. I am debating where to collect independent reviews for bookings that come in via my website. I have a few now for Summer 2017 and need to decide where to send them. Putting a review on my website itself does...

I stand corrected where pointed out. I have been with HA for 5-years and my results have varied year on year, but not significantly; they have always been a worthwhile source of revenue. Since it's inception in 2013 I have used both on-line booking and payments and never had a problem with either. I...
