How fab! I bet you're pleased as punch....and very proud, as you should be.

Hope there's more bookings to come!

Kathy....sadly not. Been on the market for 16mths and had 3 people interested who then couldn't get finance. Its a nightmare out there....agents are, in the main, the pits even though they will earn 5% plus tax. In fact I could start a whole new thread!? Regarding bookings; last year, for this summe...

Oh kathy that all sounds horrendous! And even more so when you're at a distance relying on others. We have both experiences as we're on site as you know....and even then we struggle at times. Holidaymakers just don't seem to get that it can takes days to sort things out.....especially at weekend and...

Here you can place it where you like....however depending on your area you might not want it to be on full view as it's an open invitation to theives preying on holiday homes. Here that is a big problem with gangs coming over in summer who break in to the same villas time and again during the summer...

I think it's going to be impossible to stop guests abusing the suntan request.. we ask them to shower beforehand but they never do....and if you cater for families, as we do, then the kids are usually lathered in it. And usually its P20 which also causes problems with white bedding! We occasionally ...

We're in an unusual situation as we are trying to sell the villa so I only firmed up bookings at the end of Jan (we thought we had a buyer who wanted to exchange in June but it wasn't to be). I was so lucky that of the 8 enquiries (yes, only 8 received for this summer!) I had 2 who wanted to wait an...

What a dilemma seaturtle. Cleaners are so important so I understand completely the stress you're under to get this right. I agree with rosebud that it will be difficult to get them up to scratch but, given that the season is upon us, I would endeavour to try whilst alongside that work hard to get re...

This is an argument that has raged long on LMH. Damage deposits are a personal decision and very much depends on your client base. 4 older people staying for 3 days in a UK place isn't going to have the same risk as 8 people (including kids/teens) staying for a week/fortnight in the med. There's no ...

The tourist licence situation is all very complicated across spain now. I don't know how the process is in Andalucia but my advice would be to put your application in to the hands of gestoria or lawyer. They will be able to advise you and then handle the application for you. The gestoria will also b...

Gawd knows Dusty. I know many people who drive to the uk and back and they have a nightmare trying to book ferries. Add to that the fact they are usually way overpriced as there's a monopoly happening. It's common to see 2 boats leave at exactly the same time and follow each other to the destination...

I don’t send anybody a Christmas card, never mind guests. The sooner the card thing ends the better. A waste of money and environmentally unfriendly. Aww what a shame. I love receiving cards from people I've met over the years. It's nice to think that they've remembered us and taken a few minutes t...

It's normal Dusty. It's one of the frustrations of balearic island living. Sometimes they only show the dates a few weeks before. Oh the tales I could tell you about trying to get off this island via ferries  We once had to cancel a cottage booked in Mallorca in December as they were taking ag...

I've sent an e Christmas card out every year for the past 12 yrs. It really does help keep that connection and is instrumental in getting bookings. I use the Jackie Lawson website to send the cards so it's easy peasy. Mousie x I love the JL website as well. Do you continue to send to people who hav...
