My furnished holiday let was in Spain but the rules are the same from the perspective of UK tax reporting as a UK resident (which I was at the time). I lived in London but used this firm in the North East and I paid no UK tax on my rental income for three years because of allowable expenses racked u...

Have a shower curtain and one of those sprung curtain poles on standby (assuming the shower is one that has two solid walls). I once had a shower door explode on me without any provocation. A new bathroom installation and I think it had been fitted too tightly within the frame. At the time I thought...

Wow! Wow! Wow! Marks wrote, "Spain-Holiday.com will soon be able to offer you a Tourist License Consultancy Service to help you ensure that your tourist licence application is correctly filled out and sent to the right authorities. " What an incredibly fantastic service! My cynical reserv...

My curiosity was piqued by the fact that they a) had listings and b) the guest comments emanated almost entirely from non-British guests. Now it could be that Ruralidays is a rogue outfit stealing listings and feedback from elsewhere, but I cannot know from my cursory inspection where they garner th...

Sorry, but for me that would have headed straight into delete without any question. There are so many scammy flags it's hard to know where to start. I actually love trash attempts like that because they are so fabulously inept :D Isn't it great how Robert Parker and his family don't know that they l...

I am currently insured via Intasure and my pool is covered, but I know have 'expat insurance' as an owner-occupier so maybe it's different. When I was renting my place out I had cover with Saga as I am 50+. Very competitive and the cover was excellent. They tried to withdraw cover when I left the UK...

My 18 year old niece and her boyfriend have just departed after a week with me and the fitted sheet and top sheet on their bed are so yellow with sunscreen I have decided to just call them 'dust sheets' and pass them on to my maintenance guy for the next time we decorate. The really irksome thing, h...

Ruralidays

Don't know anything about this outfit but I stumbled across them while searching for something to do with a festival in my area. They seem to be solely for properties in Andalucía and presumably away from the coast bearing in mind the name. I have no idea how they charge as I cannot find a link to t...

Fat is good for you Dusty. Well, fat other than highly processed seed oils that is. So as long as your meat is cooking on the plancha in its own fat or you are using healthy oils such as olive, avocado & coconut oil all is well :D

HA is formula driven rubbish these days. They have taken all control away from their advertisers so it's no surprise if it's all or nothing on the damage deposit.

No, I am doing it the way you describe to some extent, but I cannot drag so I am using the upload and selecting my photo. It arrives at its destination, but upside down.

Hello fellow PMP lovers :D I have an issue with photo loading. I am keeping my own web page 'alive' in spite of no longer offering my place as a holiday rental because you just never know what is around the corner. I wanted to update a few photos - deleting some and adding new ones. I use an iMac an...
