Haven't had a kitchen from Maisons du Monde, but their stuff isn't flat pack - it all comes ready built. Quality is variable and sadly is deteriorating somewhat so it's really best to see before you buy.

OMG Lel, I thougght I was the only person ever to have encountered a dormouse in the loo! I fished mine out with a fishing net and set him out on the lawn to dry - he shivered for hours and I thought he was a gonner, but eventually he started to recover, so we gave him some dinner then took him away...

That would only work for properties where payment was made in sterling. Where rates are quoted in other currencies there will always be a cost.

HA - changes to 'alternative payments'

Just read this on Alan Egan's Rent More Weeks Facebook page - HA are making online booking compulsory for anyone who has alternative payment methods enabled. Apparently if anyone in that position doesn't enable online booking by 4 October, alternative payment methods will be switched off and removed...

Hi Chipiechoo I think this failure of the 112 service needs to be raised with the 'powers that be'. I can't help but agree with that, farley. I've used 112, from my French mobile in an area with no cover on my own network (Free). My call was patched through via another network (Orange) and all work...

Well, I'm biased, I know, as I've run adult-only accommodation for over 20 years now (in Yorkshire, Norfolk and now the French Pyrenees), but I think it's a great market if you're aiming at couples or friends travelling together (or single people, who don't get much of a look in on the rental market...

I'm with zebedee and Casscat. MaryE, your accommodation sleeps 2 and sells on airbnb for 101 euros a night. Really, is it worth getting your knickers in a twist about guests' use of loo rolls and tissues? To the point where you refer to it as theft? Sorry, but I think if you're going to enjoy being ...

Re: No complaints for months then 4 come along at the same t

The attitude of a booking agent to handling complaints is the real test. How true is that! And substitute 'owner' for 'booking agent' and the same thing applies. A fascinating and (as usual) well thought out and balanced read, Charles. Interesting that you found the 'puppy eating specs' incident th...

Welcome to Lay My Hat, Nicolafaw. You have exciting times ahead. I'm not in the UK, but one piece of advice I can give you is to have a really good read of this site: http://www.holidayletsforsale.com/ It's written by one of our members, Charles Cawley, who also runs a small local agency for propert...

We used to supply them (only because we had quite a stock that came from the UK with us) but stopped after a couple of years here as nobody bothered with them. I think it's a climate thing - it's just too warm here through our season to think about wearing a robe. Personally I'd prefer extra, or bet...

Steve, I really feel for you, but I have to say that I'm VERY uncomfortable with you naming this person on here. This is, after all, a public part of the forum and her name can be seen by anyone who chooses to Google it - including the person herself. I understand why you've named her here but I thi...

Just really dipping in here to say hello to you, GG - it's good to see you back here! And yes, as the others have said, the listing site world has emigrated to a whole other universe in the short time since you left the business behind  I would never now recommend to a new owner that they tie t...
