You get the property ready, pay the bills, sit back and wait for them to just pay you. And they only pay you AFTER the end of the holiday. Not necessarily - I collect the money from the guests according to my own terms and conditions - ie 30% deposit on booking and rest 6 weeks before arrival so al...

It's instant book and they take a hard line on double bookings so a mistake on your part can be very very expensive. Check your prices and availability on there very carefully and once you've done that check again! And maybe again. Seriously. If you double book the site will find guests an alternati...

Re: Cancel TV WiFi?

Any cancelled TV licence and WiFi as rentals empty? Also is insurance invalid if rental empty for a period? Insurance depends on your policy. My unoccupancy terms kick in after 60 days. The stricter security requirements are what we normally do anyway so not really a problem for me. Our neighbour i...

Now I'm self employed it wouldn't matter.so much but I still like to have a day at home before picking up the laptop again when Monday comes around so I'd not rule out a Friday but wouldn't want a Sunday

If you go with Promote My Place you get a website and basic booking software thrown in for around £69 a year in hosting fees. (pm me if you want an introductory code). Once you have template letters set up you can get reminders that money is due etc sent to you which makes it really easy to keep a t...

Try telling that to Gwynedd Council - they're trying not to give it to "wealthy second home-owners"

The self-catering accommodation must actually have been let for a period of 140 days or more in the financial year 2019-20 Have the Welsh Government changed the rules? Was 70 days let and available for 140 days. That's the criteria for business rates. To get the grant they've set the bar higher.

I'm Conwy and the VOA gave me the option of filling in a complex income/expenditure form or send copies of accountant prepared accounts. They had 3 years of accounts from me. I've now resubmitted the same paperwork and more to Conwy. We meet the criteria and then some. I wonder what excuse they'll c...
