I closed my calendar on b.com for this very reason back in March It was obvious right from the start that the instant booking would cause problems for us (Wales - local lockdowns, same day lockdowns, a couple of days at least to get council permission to accept keyworker guests etc etc). I never tru...

What do you want to do? I always leave my own dog with friends when we go skiing because combining dogs with a skiing holiday is always going to be problematic. If you want them to leave if they break the rules then you need to make sure that is in your terms and conditions. I also take dogs and say...

It's a lot easier to sign up with someone like cottages.com than it is to escape, Look very very closely at the terms to end the contract. You could find yourself tied in for much longer than it would appear at first glance. One thing to be aware of is that all these marketing companies live off YOU...

The password is in the welcome book and nowhere else.

My thought/hope is that it will maybe encourage folks to read some of the book - we can just hope!

Not automatically for SC businesses though - you've got to provide 2 years of accounts, proof of letting for 140 days and proof that it provides over 50% of your income. You can't apply for the national one if you qualify for the local one - oh and the money ran out for the local one within 36 hour...

In Wales, the national two-week lockdown grant is £1000. There is an additional grant of £1,000 for businesses that were affected by the previous local lockdown arrangements for a period of three weeks or more. On top of this, there is a £2,000 discretionary grant for businesses that were forced to...

Absolutely dead here.

Mark Drakeford has killed the Welsh STL market at the moment. Even when lockdown is over he's not yet said if we can re-open never mind on what terms.

I'm expecting to have to refund my Christmas and NY bookings and not expecting anything much until Easter.

Yes finally! We applied in June and they made payment this week.

Endless threatening emails in the interim about how it's illegal to watch broadcast TV without one.

If I could ditch the TV in the cottage I would.

You need to get someone else to do the EPC. The modern ones want internal wall insulation, floor insulation, solar panels and wind turbines! Crazy isn't it! Apparently if I followed the recommendations I'd save £150pa! I do actually have internal wall insulation on one side of the house but that ap...

Having been present for the EPC for my own stone house I agree that they are a bad joke. It was pure guesswork and woefully inadequate to cope with a complicated building like mine. However they are a legal requirement to sell. I believe that in Scotland they are also now a requirement for holiday l...

Hello! I'm in the process of buying a property in Snowdonia that will be a holiday let and I've a few questions. Where do you guys buy your furniture etc from? Which letting service is the best? Do you have any tips for a new starter? Thanks :D :D I bought all my furniture locally from local small ...
