Where do I start?

I've no idea how to go about setting up my website. I've had a go on MS Publisher, but I'm not really happy with it. I know I'm juming the gun a bit as the property isn't even completed, but I would like all the groundwork done well in advance.

Tansy, I had full intended waiting till it was finished, but there will probably be a very tight deadline between the completion date and the start of the ski season.

Paolo, that's along the lines I was thinking. We've rented from people who have asked for a deposit the first time we stayed (when we were strangers) but on re-booking, weren't asked for one.

I'd be interested too, although our property is only small (or rather will be), it was marketed for sale as luxury, and is being equipped with top of the range appliances and bathroom fittings by the builders. I was thinking along the lines of £150 but agree that some things will be more expensive ...

Thanks, tried to order a catalogue, but they will only send to a French postal address, and mines still partly built so can't use that.

My worst experience is in French apartment complexes where you have to rent the things or bring your own. We forgot to bring them one year, and the bath towel was no bigger than a postage stamp. Generously sized is preferred over qunatity.

That's what I though too, Paolo. As the nearest airport is Turin, we could even use the IKEA there. There are some things I will definitely be buying there, like our bed (we have one at home and it's so comfortable)., and the kitchen equipment.

I'm just trying to work out my rental charges for our first winter season (ski resort!!) . The Winter Olympics are being held in Turin next Feb, with the main skiing events being held only 30 mins from our apartment. It is also the peak half term period, so how far do I go, bearing in mind it's our ...

Just starting out in the game ourselves, but as a property renter, I would say we would expect a bathtowel and handtowel per person, with perhaps a spare set or two.

Alan, I have been led to believe by others that it would be more hassle to buy out there. However, we intend to try and buy from one outlet and get all the big stuff delivered together. If anyone has any good suggestions for stores we can try, it would be appreciated.

Furnishing my property

We have bought a brand new apartment in a ski resort in France. The property won't be ready until Nov/Dec, but our thoughts are starting to turn to the furnishings. Others have suggested shipping everything out from the UK, but I'm not so sure (costs involved have been estimated at £1000). How did ...
