Disinfectants

What's everyone using as a disinfectant on changeover day? For July I'm leaving 3 days between guests but August is back to back bookings so I'd like to use something that specifically kills coronaviruses to wipe door handles, light switches etc. Out of Eden have a few and I've found various options...

Oh wow well done! That's fantastic for you! We've just returned from a few weeks in ours with the intention of finally making the decision to put it on the market but got seduced by it all over again..... So we're going to do one more year at least..... I think if we're going to sell ...

One of the many reasons I sent them packing last year. Greedy bast***s, but they're all the same now. Such a shame.

Yes as Mols says, why is your pump running 24/7, that's certainly not needed. Our pool gets topped up roughly once a month - Brittany - bit more rain than most. :D

In the last 13 years of letting, only 1 set of guests have agreed to a mid-stay bedding/towel change and she was there for 3 weeks. She was asked to strip all the beds and the dirty bedding/towels were collected and the clean bedding/towels delivered. They had to put it on the beds themselves. Not o...

Oh it's so difficult isn't it! I really haven't got the energy to go chasing bookings anymore. I've got nothing for next year, having turned 3 away who wanted to book back in April/May. We'd decided to sell this time last year, then had an about turn but too late it seems, we've missed the boat, I w...

Thank you, all of you for your sympathy! I know you've all been there too and yes you're right Farley we can't do what we did 10 years ago, everything's just getting harder and harder and we don't have the stamina that we once did! I've recovered somewhat from last week but still in the same ...

2 weeks in the life of a holiday home owner

Can I share my very stressful week, more than a week actually. Guests in for 2 weeks, arrived Friday week ago, the following Monday they report the wifi very intermittent and the dishwasher playing up. It stops halfway through the cycle and they can’t stop or change anything, lots of clicking going ...

Hopefully friendly discussion and acceptance that things just go wrong will help find a satisfactory compromise. Start with a vague gesture that you'd like to offer some recompense, see what their attitude/mood is and take it from there. Sorry it does not explicitly answer your question, but..... W...

Have you had contact with the guests Bluebell? Are they complaining? They might be perfectly ok sightseeing etc for the first couple of days. Is the pool safe for them but still just cloudy?

We've discovered that our insurance company will not cover it while it's in use! Nor will they cover it from 11pm-7am unless taken from a locked garage, or mechanical, electrical or breakdown of any kind. Not much point in insuring it at all!

Golf buggy issues?

We've just bought a golf buggy for the house in France, it'll be great for getting the oldies and food/wine down to the picnic area down by the water. We will be letting guests use it and are only now thinking about Health & Safety etc  . First thing I think we absolutely must do is limit ...
