We get tons of families with small children, I wonder if we should try Tots to Travel. I always thought we would not be suitable due to the open staircase upstairs, up to the mezzanine (a magnet for small kids!) but we've worked out a stargate solution for that now. We provide almost all of the equi...

Yes I like those ones though its worth noting they steam up like mad! So the window would probably need a clean on changeover. We find it does help bookings, yes. It looks so nice. People often mention it. I don't monitor the wood consumption, it evens out...some people have one every night but some...

I honestly don't think they are possible without being on site or having a reliable maintenance person. There are way too many opportunities for disaster. I'm not even sure it would be legal, as I don't think you can sign away your responsibility to the guests. How about a wood-fired sauna instead? ...

The wood - fired ones are a world of trouble. They cost a huge amount to heat, especially if you don't really know how to work one, and the wood is much more prone to bacteria. Don't get me wrong, I love them and we have seriously looked into one for ourselves but they are a total no-no for guests!

I would imagine that the transfer of contacts to an owner could be argued to fall under 'legitimate interest' anyway, under GDPR. Anyway, I agree completely that the more personal touch is a good idea and no-one has ever complained, rather the reverse. I send a text before arrival and if I'm not goi...

You really can't tell. I haven't had many problems, but they have universally been from people who were the picture of respectability and wholesomeness.

"A better payment experience is here" They have been moving everyone over to this for some time. I called them, I think, about three years ago. When we moved back to commission after they started bumping down subscription properties which decimated our bookings. I said, come on, I ...

Awful! I'm so sorry this happened to you. Good luck with the site, I would certainly report it but I'll be amazed if they do anything concrete. I'm afraid the lesson I have learned is that no matter how much your property is normally a haven of peace, awful people may well arrive, especially (though...

I've been asked this and I do actually have a spare yoga mat. So I've lent it out a few times - I have one that wipes clean easily. No-one has ever actually used it, I know because I roll and tie it in a particular way. I think if you really want to do yoga while you are away, you get a light ...

I've been really lucky it seems, we usually get one or two US bookings per year and they have been great. I make it clear in my emails what I do and don't offer. There have been some amusing misunderstandings but nothing serious. "Hi, you mentioned a shopping delivery service. Could we order sh...

Sorry to read this and I am not at a all surprised at the update :( They are clearly people who like to push what they can get. No-one turns up in good faith with extra kids without checking where they are going to sleep. I would double check that the policies on kids are extremely clear - that they...

We have one (in the Alps) and it is a huge draw, no question. I don't think I'd do it in the UK. The requirements are very stringent - rightly so - and I personally don't see the appeal in a damp temperate climate. I think the demographic for a hot tub in a UK rental is a bit different. Depending on...

Generally they are close to it. But we aren't far from the airport. I make sure that the things people really need to know are in the email and text messages, and there is a key safe. I tell them to just let themselves in...if I'm in, all well and good but I think a lot of people just like to get in...

It's hard to comment without more detail - what are the issues? What factors are disturbing? What do you mean by 'alternative lifestyles?' or 'deviants'?
