2021 C-19 and Holidays in Italy

How are you managing your bookings for 2021? Last year we took a few bookings and this year with so much uncertainty about lockdown and C-19, we have declined bookings for 2021 summer until we know more about when Italy will open and the restrictions. Interested to hear how you are managing bookings...

As others have said we provide the cot but no bedding. We have found that guests prefer to bring their own baby bedding an in many cases their own travel cots. Many of the airlines will consider travel cots, outside of the normal luggage allowance.

When we bought our villa we paid an extra 1.5% €3k to seal the deal and ensure that everything was left at the villa. At the time we didn't know the area very well and wanted to get it up and rented asap. Plus we simply didn't want to arrive and have to shop for everything from beds to kitchen equip...

Same as Garden boy - I charge half a day for early check in. We have an apt in Dubai and flights into the UAE tend to be early hours of the morning or late at night. We would loose too much revenue if we did not charge.

We are in Italy and after holding our prices for 2 years, for 2017 we converted all of our listings to Euros and increased prices by 10%. We also added final clean as an extra charge and increased the damage deposit for €250 - €350. Overall for peak weeks, the price increase was 15%. We secured more...

Sorry I may be too late but I vote washing machine. We travel as a couple in mainly self catering accom and I have never ever used the dishwasher. I have used the washing machine for the odd/short wash of a few items, if we are staying more than a few days. A few questions - do you have a lot of cro...

Just a final comment. I believe Intasure are the only insurers that cover earth quake damage with a £5k excess. Intasure are not the cheapest but with the earth quake over, it may be worth the additional premium.

I am not sure what on earth has happened at OD - 4 enquires and zero bookings this year. There was a time when I could easily fill 20 weeks a year with just OD. Very disappointing.

Hi Airbnb have a extenuating circumstances policy. Unfortunately the cost is 100% bourne by the host. I think the only option is to spread your risk and secure bookings across a number of different sites. Easier said than done as Airbnb continue their march for world domination. Since the intro of t...

Hi Some great feedback from LMH's. Your offer looks lovely and incredibly comfortable. My comments are based on guest approach. I also found the property listed on Airbnb, you are not the cheapest or the most expensive. You do state max of 2 people, which limits and means your price per head is high...

Up until 2016 - I listed my Italian Villa in GB sterling but it became obvious that my UK guests were dwindling and not being replaced. After researching on LMH, I nervously converted all of my listings to Euros and this year my income from bookings are 20% up. I asked myself the question - would I ...

We are in Italy and our pool is 12x6m. We are not on site and our guy looks after the pool and the garden. He visits twice a week for 4 hours each time. Cleans, runs the robot, changes the filter, checks the chems etc and also does the garden too. May be we are overdoing it? I hate to think of the p...
