French Estate Agents - what to look out for?

We are selling our house in the Gers and would appreciate any advice about working with local estate agents. At this early stage we are not sure what questions we should be asking.

One Off Places

We signed up with One Off Places about 5 years ago and it has only generated one booking and that was made in the first year - nothing since. We are selling our place in France so we won't be using them any more and although the team were very helpful I wouldn't recommend this company.

Fabulous House For Sale in Gascony, SW France

Our house in the Gers is in an idyllic setting on the crest of a hill with views of the Pyrenees. There are 5 bedrooms, a balcony, an upstairs bathroom, downstairs shower room, kitchen, utility room, salon, veranda and an integral barn that has been renovated to serve as a games room/ dining room fo...

Recommended stopover places en route to SW France

Does anyone have any favourite locations they go to to break the long journey from Calais down to Bordeaux? Any recommendations would be gratefully received.

Selling up

We are in a similar situation as you are, namely after nearly 30 years of having a holiday home in the Gers, the time has come to sell it. I can't bear the thought of it but it has to be. Our plan is to advertise early next year through local agencies and also Le Bon Coin. I hadn't really considered...

Brexit and owning a propery in France

Does anyone who has a property in France have any insight into what could happen once Brexit has been completed? Is it likely that properties there that are owned by the British will be at risk of being commandeered by the French authorities once we are no longer in the EU?

AIRBNB - only getting responses from the French

Having been with Air Bnb for about a year now, it seems the only people to notice the listing for our house in France are the French. I thought it reached a global audience. I have tried getting answers off their helpline to no avail and just gave up trying to get through to them on the phone. Does ...

Can anyone recommend a cheap B & B north of Rouen to break our journey from Calais to the south west?

Thanks for your reply. After I had protested I found I could then access my page without the annoying box masking the original. However, the experience of dealing with a smooth talking and, in my opinion, cover up merchant has totally put me off dealing with this company and I just want to be free o...

I tried to look at the analytic thing on our OD listing and it greyed out with only the window for online payment showing and no cross to get rid of it. I spoke to an OD person and said I did NOT want to go for their online payment service - all I wanted was to see if there had been any more views o...

If not OD then where?

We have tried OD for the first time this year and it hasn't generated anything yet (started in mid January). We have also signed up with Airbnb and have got an 8 day booking in our peak season. This time last year we were almost fully booked and so the current situation is seriously scary. Previousl...

Thank you to all who have been kind enough to post such helpful comments. It is difficult to be objective after scrutinising the content over and over. More photos are in the pipeline as are more specific prices. Thanks again, Pauline.
