I would agree, if you do a search for a property in your area and they don't come up on the search there is no point.
We use Independent but only had one booking from them, others seem to get more. That may be because we are already pretty booked and not much chance for them to book anything!

I filled in the forms recently, they asked a lot of questions this time rather than throwing money at us.
Too many people here with 2nd homes and claiming to let them out to avoid council tax.

I think the cost per click seems a bit high. I have a limit on mine and ensure the negative keyword list is updated.
I do find that twhen starting a campaign that aa sorts of searches are included which need weeding out.
Have you checked the terms which those clicks showed for ?

We got a couple of bookings when we first went with them and then nothing. Have cancelled all OTA sites now and can only book direct.

Apex Blue - yes, I have a strict cancellation policy but ABB are trying to override and are clearly taking the view that owners should take the losses, not the guest. Home Away have just sent an email to owners giving advice that "in the event of a cancellation, in the spirit of good hospitali...

I have no idea of the answer to that, I bought new to cover myself against issues.
At the end of the day, if anything does happen they will look at you and what you have done to prevent an incident.
I know lots of people who don't follow the guidelines.

Hi

This is from the Visit Britain site:

you need to comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.
All furniture (new and second-hand) in your self-catering accommodation that is covered by the regulations must comply with certain safety tests.

Hope that helps

I have never used airbnb as a guest, but am listed as a host (Not that we get much out of it). As you say, they are all very similar and we can only hope that it pushes guests to look a little bit harder and find their own place rather than use these sites.

GMB or SEO knwoing people here ?

Hi I have been doing a lot of work on our 'Google My Business' page and website recently. What i have realsied is that the more I find out, the more I realise that there is so much more to learn. I am finding a lot of the things I am doing, I should have done differently from the start. Any hints an...

Hopefully this may make people more aware and look into where they are staying a little more, an internet search maybe.

Morning I would agree with some of that. You can get them to turn dynamic pricing off, but they will tell you the world will end and will get no bookings. You CAN negotiate more owner weeks for your own bookings (we got 11 on each cottage) to manage through our own site. But, I would agree with the ...

Hi

That's possible. We negotiated 11 weeks owner bookings with them, maybe that is part of the reason.
