I had a simmilar result after I paid to "boost." Mine was limited to USA and certain, very specific interests...the profiles of the people who "liked" just did not fit. There's a certain "type" that seems interested in my place, organically...and these profiles just see...

Yes I was thinking that. I did one a little while back targeting U.S. but I didn't get much out of it...and the people that "liked" seemed off...not the type who normally like my page of that makes sense...so I guess I need to target my audience better!

Yes, Italy. (only have the Italian hr now) I'm on vrbo & ha subscription and od and hl/tripadvisor and Airbnb pay-per-booking but I'm getting silence from all. I can't really clear all dates though on od since I'm pay-per-booking, right? Get rid of my 3night min I guess I could do...I don't have...

I also 100% agree. I hate separate fees and I have always included it in my rates. I am finding it difficult, however, to compete on Airbnb, for example, with my inclusive rate when locals tend to have an additional cleaning fee (& per person fee and sometimes in Italy they also add laundry fee,...

Is your price structure the same on all sites?

I have always been a fan of an all-inclusive price; it annoys me to have to sort through listings and then figure out all the different added fees! I have always built the cleaning, laundry, utilities, etc. in my weekly rate. I, however, am noticing on Airbnb (mostly local Italian owners,) that, in ...

Fb group for late availability?

I am finding myself with *five* weeks open still this Summer :-( I don't think it's ever been so quiet! I was wondering if you have success with any fb groups, etc. for last-minute availability or specials? It's a fly-in location and I usually get mainly Americans...but that dosen't work last-minute...

I live in a non-carpet country but didn't have carpet in the UK either (I loathe, hate and detest fitted carpet :? !)- the best option I think is tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms (and possibly living areas - you can always add big room-sized rugs which are easy to replace if the worst happens) an...

I've honestly never thought of it. I, myself, would find it a bit much - my place has clear instructions how to reach me or my local housekeeper with any issue. I also have no wifi there so I think it'd be a bit rude to have them paying charges to read my email and/or feel they have to reply. I'm in...

Well...2 "likes" in 2 days. $3.23 spent so far...giving it the 7 days and we'll see I guess. Maybe I didn't tweak the audience interests (or whatever they call it) just right...I tried to be specific but maybe not the right terms.

I once had a really nice group of 8 Danish students in America, if it makes you feel better. The did take the dining table out to use on the grass...and I saw them sunbathing on the front lawn (odd since we had a large back yard.) They were lovely and clean and quiet though.

So nice to read this! I just tried a "promote your page" this afternoon. Nothing yet from it...but we'll see. I'm not totally sure I utilized the targeted audience as well as I could but I tried to think of relevant interests anyway so I have high hopes to get. A little more exposure.

No, no, it's still there. I'm on subscription w HA/vrbo but I added a pay-per-booking e OD yesterday. It showed up when I clicked purchase or subscription options or whatever they call it...I thought maybe it was gone to since I didn't see it until I finished my listing.

My place attracts an older crowd as well...nothing from airbnb yet! I also think it is very city-centric still. (I deactivated it when I listed the NYC house because I couldn't keep up w all the inquiries! Mostly unless bargain hunters...but still!)

We have a product in America, called febreeze, that is made specifically to get neutralize smells (rather than just cover w another scent.) Do you have similar there? Of not, I agree re the baking soda! I'd leave open boxes around to help absorb the smell as much as possible.

I would decline and, if possible, suggest a small hr nearby for one of the families & tell them they would be more comfortable that way.
