Re: Is Dorset-uk.info a legitimate OTA?

So what are you going to do? I think you must report this officially. You may have guests turn up at your property believing they have booked with you and paid to stay. It won’t be pretty if they do. Action Fraud. Trading Standards. Both good places to start. No point in just discussing it here . So...

Re: Is Dorset-uk.info a legitimate OTA?

Is this a scam site that will take money from people “booking” over a short period of time then disappear with the money???

Re: Agent takeover

Yes, because of course they want the guests to book every year with them so they get the commission. They aren’t too bothered about any damage to your property. Agents are not really our friends once they have signed us up. If you need any help re TCs or other matters don’t hesitate to pm me. I sugg...

Re: Agent takeover

Hi, Many years ago I started out with an agent. The contract was unlimited owner bookings. The bookings came in from the agent but started to slow. So I set up a website and pointed the adverts for my property on two local tourist sites (that I was paying for) away from the agent to my own site. The...

Re: Switching to long let for one year

You may also need to consider that local authorities may be given powers to limit the numbers of FHLs in their area. This could affect your ability to switch back. I don’t know how long this would take to become approved, but it is a realistic possibility under discussion at the moment. Furthermore,...

Well I am the only person who has answered the question in the original post.
No one else has made any other suggestions or offered any help.

Is it any wonder this forum is dying and people don’t use it anymore?

Rointe D series (which is what is needed here) run on electricity powered by wind. So they tick the renewal energy box nicely. I doubt they will fall to meet up to any future EPC standards when the government has decided to do away with gas, some logs, and making similar plans for oil. It’s not like...

In light of the forthcoming ban on gas boilers coming in, which will inevitably lead to changes in EPCs, isn’t there a useful saying about bridges and crossings with regards to a certificate that every estate agent will tell you, no one pays any attention to? It might be something to consider if the...

Hi, yes, I had Rointe radiators fitted which can be controlled with an app on my phone and have the open window sensor.
I can highly recommend them. Feel free to pm me if you would like more details.

" What does providing a full address make? You cannot prove that they have any connection with the address provided ." Absolutely. Try googling the address: It is surprising how often you see a shop or warehouse or office (and no connexion between the name and the office). I have even ins...

I send out certain information via the post. Without the guest receiving that information, the booking can’t go ahead. Sorry, but I am not prepared to let anyone stay who could do a lot of damage etc and have no way of contacting them. Some years ago I was told a story of someone who had let their p...

I would agree it isn’t a good time to buy a flat at the moment. However, a caravan or lodge - do you understand that they have limited lifespans?? Eg the caravan site owner will dictate how old your caravan is allowed to get before you have to replace it? Lodges also have a limited lifespan so not a...

I would agree that you are not under any obligation to refund. Let’s face it, they may have had a row, or it could be something serious with a family member. However, you could now advertise the second week as available whilst you are ventilating and deep cleaning - maybe even 8 or 9 days depending ...

Be prepared for your agent to argue their case (code for refuse). Their fear will be that you contact guests direct to get them to book through you rather than the agent. Perhaps think about your response. Most people that use agents go to different places every year and don't want to deal with own...
