That is very annoying Sam. I can see lots of glitches with this new system and changeover, it will be important to watch carefully for payments. I wonder will this happen with all payments or is it just a glitch on changeover.. How did you manage that Sunbeam, did they ask you to move to new system ...

Hi Sam,
I was also wondering how can you charge more for short breaks so the only answer I have is to put it in the notes eg short stays of 3 to 6 nights will be extra £xx.
A similar charge to other extras, it is an extra changeover day so costs are more..
Their may be a better way to show it on HA?

Thanks Newtimer for GDPR guidelines.. I have only sent to one who missed the review period on HA.. I have just looked at HomeAway and it is only 14 day s if review is submitted by either owner or guest. Guests have told me "it was too late to write a review" I had not checked this before n...

Yes that is correct guests can only post a review if they booked through HomeAway and there is a time limit, I think 30 days or approx.
Holiday Lettings / TA allow you to gather reviews from guests that book direct you can send them a link.

I too would love to see alternative sites succeed, but with this website I don't understand the availability calendar. I have just been looking to book a holiday villa for August it shows many properties are available but once you click on owners website their calendar shows not available, this is c...

I have said "technical qualities of alternatives" For me I look at the filters on the website & availability updates. There is a high price to pay if you do not keep your calendar updated on bigger sites (eg on instant booking etc you know if dates are available). I am also guilty of n...

I did see once in the t&c's of property a note on keeping the place clean that said something like this: "We ask you leave the apartment in the same condition you found it our cleaners allow 4 hours to clean but if more time is needed we will charge €50 per hour from your security deposit&q...

Do you know you can send the guest the "reservation request" you don't have to wait for them to send you one.
I think in cases like this where they want to book it looks more professional, you can always cancel it if they change their mind just a thought!

To answer your question to "what sites are working" I think for a lot of people this year it is trial & error with other websites and local agencies again we have found it harder to find bookings this year but this site is great for ideas. For me I joined lots of other websites costing...
