Re: Cdh - classification

It's our first season and we are with booking.com who are collecting taxe de sejour but how do we pay it? And to whom? If you know you're subject to Taxe de Séjour (and logically you must if you're including it in the bookingdot com price) then surely you know who takes it off you? Otherwise how do...

Maybe I'm not being clear. My question is - is the Transferwise method and small fee you describe cheaper for the guest than their credit card fee would be if you requested payment in pounds through Wave/stripe? I would have thought so but I'm not familiar with credit card charges in other countrie...

Do you mean that Barclays gave you a better exchange rate than Transferwise? That's amazing.
Transferwise doesn't necessarily give the best rates for very large amounts like house purchases, but it's pretty much unbeatable for small transfers.

No but i'm wondering if transfer wise payment in Euros would be cheaper than than the guests credit card charge for paying in pounds? You can also pay by credit card through transfer wise, but in your own currency, so no cc fees, just a small transfer wise fee for the service. You request payment i...

Some, but not many, chambres d'hôtes offer kitchen facilities, or a "coin cuisine". Most don't have the room for it even if they wanted to. Maybe some people would like a kitchen to use, but as a guest I wouldn't want the smell and mess of somebody else's food wafting around the guest area...

I guess these people aren't Spanish, then, and don't appreciate your peculiar position with electricity in Spain or that they can't recharge due to poor electrics. I know I didn't! I wonder how they have managed to get around in Spain? Bit crazy to take an electric car to a country where you...

Raising this subject again after a year. Because of this subject we choose to add a line about unable to accept the charging of electric vehicles . Today a Spaniard with the exact same make and model as in the original posting turned up expecting us to allow him to recharge his vehicles battery. Ne...

All Ikea stainless steel stuff is solid, as far as I could tell from picking it up and holding it. I think what it feels like in your hands is very important. Happy hunting. :)

The prices shown on this UK site look odd but we use Sedlig, bought from Ikea Caen.

The Loi Macron says that there can be NO rate restrictions imposed by OTA contracts, unless they have been negotiated and agreed individually with the "hotel". Read this interview, where a booking.com honcho says hotels can advertise lower prices on their own sites, following the introduct...

However as you are already in the clutches of the RSI it won't be that simple and I'm guessing that you won't have any choice about paying the cotisations this year. If you fit the criteria you should take action to end the Gite business officially (ie with the RSI) and you must do it before the en...
