Most people I know, ask for help from a "garagiste" because the online procedure is tricky. You need a France Connect identification. In theory there are 3 possibilities to get one. In practice it seems to be less easy. A friend tried with his social security number, answer of the system: ...

I looked it up: SIRET: it is free at the "greffe du tribunal de commerce" of the department if you are a non-professional, which depends on your income of the gite. https://www.impots.gouv.fr/portail/particulier/les-locations-meublees (in French) The following link can be interesting if yo...

You do not automatically pay charges. I have a gite since 1998 and got a SIRET by the centre des impôts because I do a "déclaration au réel" listing every year my income and charges of the gite has the marvelous effect that I earn hardly anything :). But the gite is part of our property an...

I think invoice is in French facture . One of my guests needed one this year. Some enterprises seem to contribute for a holiday if the employee proves the stay. I had to mention the usual stuff: name, address, SIRET, dates of the stay and the mention "payé par chèque" plus my signature. At...

Research study about shared economy

Below a message my son sent me today. It takes about 15 minutes to do the survey. He worked for a long time in hotels and with a mother running a gite in France, he is very interested in the discussions - at least in France - pretending airbnb, and other bed & breakfast turn people away from hot...

@ Cassis. The village I sometimes stay is owned by the commune and we always have to pay by cheque - no cash allowed - order to "tresor public".

No, not only French phone, Germans do it too. Half of the people ask where my place is. It's writen on the website, ther is a map (google or mappy) but I think a lot of people just don't know how to reap a map! Some other people phone to be sure the rental exists (in français: peur des arnaqueurs). ...

We have a taxe de séjour since 2014. As I understand it, the tax has nothing to do with the bookings. Normally, the guest has to pay on arrival to the administration - in my case communauté de communes - if I rent in Charente or Finistère I make a cheque to the "tresor public", so my guest...

Yes, I received a paper for my bank and brought it to them. It seems it takes some days before it works. I had a problem with the next step - give the order to pay.

Cotisation foncière des entreprises Online payment only

I always do my tax declarations alone. On the last one in may was a line saying that in 2016 all declarations have to be made on-line. In October I went to the tax centre to ask for explanations. Every enterprise, even small gites, have to create an account on the website http://www.impots.gouv.fr/p...

I agree with the others. I would look for a new artisan. It is better to choose in the area. If you have plumbing problems and the worker has to come from Bulgaria you will never see him again... My mother in law had "cheap" work done by an enterprise 120 km from here and the work was neve...

I don't think you can get one more taxe free year if you register with Gites de France. You have to pay every year before the 15th of december. This year I sent my cheque to my tax office because they changed something and I was unable to find the address where to send the money. Tax simplification ...

I just had a phone call from holiday rentals Europe - I think it's same you mention. The man said he phoned from London and that they have Scandinavian people looking for holiday homes in my area. He sent the link to their website. 299€ a year! There seems to be no possibility to try some months for...
