Not much information provided is there? It's amazing the data that can be captured using WiFi even if you don't log in. You can be tracked to see how you move around a building, how often you are there just from having WiFi turned on, no need to log in. I use Ubiquity access points, quite easy to ma...

Hi Zebedee We are also trying to pay off our mortgage over a shorter term so payments are very steep but I don't view paying off the capital as a business cost, that is our choice to invest profits to pay off the asset. The business cost is really just the interest you still pay plus and interest yo...

Have they given an indication of how much that could be? We can open again in 2 weeks so I was not expect much if anything additional. The descriptions for my council cover so many industries it is hard to work out what the grant could be.

Hi Ben, Our places are outright business rates but I am sure I have heard of people who are on a mixture or council tax and business rates. The best thing would be to talk to the valuation office. The business rates tend to be on the number of permanent bed spaces. You can search on their site for s...

Hi Newtimber We have done most of that, guides are all electronic (Touchstay). We have removed a number of items. We are washing mattress and pillow protectors at every changeover. Our laundry costs alone have gone from £60 to £120. One of the things we pride ourselves on is the quality and quantity...

I agree it may work in some locations but it will not go into cupboards or do anything on a surface not exposed.

Last year we were leaving a gap of at least 2 nights between guests, we had the cleaners carry out additional cleaning but the one thing that was just not practical was cleaning every item in the kitchen. It would take more than a day! I was hoping that some of the suggestions would have been confir...

I think the Safe-T-Lights were redesigned. The original had 4 thin fins that got bent by guests ramming the torch in when not aligned. I spoke to the designed and he provided some new holders at low cost/ Looking at pictures of the ones shipping now they seem to have 2 wider fins so should be more r...

We did not claim for November for our second property as we had permitted guests (moving house). I emailed about claiming in January as they have not added the ability to do so, only claiming if shut in November. I was told I could apply for November but it really does not feel right to do so. This ...

Best Booking platform?

Hi All, I am looking to change from my current booking platform to something that supports better integration with OTA platforms. I am driving more direct bookings but still get a lot via AbnB and Booking.vom in low season and the odd VRBO or TA booking. I am looking for a booking platform with inte...

I would agree a little too much zooming, I can understand the desire to include some movement and if you only have still photos to work with then options are limited. Is it possible to change any of the actions to pan across the image rather than zoom?

For those that have been approved were you asked if you provided personal on site services? We answered no to this as other than cleaning between guests we have removed all personal contact as requested. Not sure why my council asked that question.
