I have a holiday let in wales next to the beach which does great in the summer. but October - March are pretty dead. Have a look at holiday lettings, home away and owners direct. They are paid listings.....but Holiday lettings and owners direct are now looking at commission based only which you need to make your own mind up about these. Or agency but they charge about 24%?? Which Agency?

I am warming towards the idea of using an agency.

Any recommendations? Good occupancy at nice prices would be good:)

Our house is very expensive to heat so it is difficult to cover the costs in winter. About £250 to cover. And people dont want to pay much more in the winter.

I have run my holiday rental through listing sites but I feel that the boundaries are moving. Commission based listing are becoming the norm. Customer cancelled booking at short notice and done a credit card chargeback with home away!

Well, i have contacted them and said that we cannot refund but can assist with insurance details for a claim. they have replied saying they are not insured for this?? Thank you all for your help and advice. It seems that the majority vote is not to refund. Quite rightly they should have insurance that they can claim from. Perhaps as my first port of call I should say no refund and direct them to their insurance company. I am rubbish at wording these things.... pr...
