Yes, Nemo, that is the one. It is a combination lock but instead of holding down a level to open you press the button above the combination.

I used masterlock but had a few cases where it got stuck so changed to Yale and prefer it. We had someone get a neighbour to call us because they couldn't open the Masterlock keysafe. They were't putting enough pressure on the lever as they just had their nails done (Maybe also why they couldn't use...

You can get some condenser dryers which divert the water to a hose which you can connect to outlet pipe from washing machine. May work for your situation.

You may be able to find a stockist who will let you try out the machines. I am sure I came across one in the UK when looking for a replacement cover. They might let you bring in your own sheets for a test drive.

I recently got a second hand Pfaff and I love it. How it compares to a Miele I can't say but it is amazing and has cut ironing time down so much. For sheets left scrunched in a ball after drying or newish egyptian cotton I do use steam and the finish is pristine. For sheets line dried and folded car...

I have just bought a secondhand Pfaff 856 and it is so easy and quick to use. I had purchased a phillips Aquacare steam station earlier this year and it was a lot easier than a traditional iron but the rotary iron/ roller press is 10 times easier. You can iron sitting down, it is quiet and just so q...

I have used www.homeexchange.com for exchanges with Australia as well as free site (cant remember the name). I have found homeexchange great. My experience with the free site was that the people listing weren't so committed and were perhaps "testing the water" whereas with homeexchange peo...

Hi Gardenboy,
I have seen some listings state "electricity included (up to $xxx)"
Perhaps you could change your conditions to include electricity up to 250kw per week or what you think is reasonable, so you have a comeback if it ever happens again.

Electrolux Iron aid dryer - too good to be true?

I need a new dryer and my eyes lit up when I found the Electrolux EDI97170w Iron Aid 7kg condenser dryer. It makes the following claim: "Dramatically reduces or even eliminates* the time required for ironing Special Iron Aid programs largely eliminates wrinkles from garments, drastically reduci...

I have had a few people ask to look around and have facilitated this. Recently I had one lady enquire who said she wanted to check that it would be suitable as her husband was a very large man. I made a time, waited for an hour and no show. Not even a text message to say she wouldn't be there. Anoth...

Follow logic or instinct?

During the Christmas break we went overseas to visit my sister and rented a holiday home for our stay. We went to her house for the day and she dropped our luggage over later that evening. There was an underground car park with access to a garage for each townhouse. She parked her car in the garage ...

Glad to hear that you have got through ok. No water is a minor issue in the scheme of things. After the earthquakes in Christchurch we were lucky to have water (many people are still witout toilets) but had to tell guests that as the sewage system citywide was under stress to go easy on the system (...
