This is the first I've heard about a ban on tipping, so I presume that it's a GB thing.

When we bought the next-door neighbour's place, it included some bookings. They deducted the value of the down payments from the amount that we were due to pay, and I collected the balances myself. As the previous owner had a much lower price on his rentals (and much lower standard in the condo), it...

Personally I think that service fee only has marginal effect. My listings on HA/VRBO were performing splendidly until the end of 2013 - just when we had bought our second condo :-( I had noticed a slight drop in enquiries earlier in 2013, but attributed that to a full calendar. Then spring came and ...

You don't need a ziplink to make up two beds to a king! Just put two divan style beds with a thicker (4-10 cm) topper mattress on top. That's more or less the standard way that Swedish king beds are made up and they don't split. This is also the way that I do in my Swedish rental cottage. I leave th...

I wouldn't install tiles without under floor heating in northern Europe. There's electrical cables that don't fill that much and if you have another source of heating, you can put them with wider distances to just give a pleasant feel to foot, not for heating the rooms (cheaper on the electric bill)...

Wendy, I haven't done your poll because I just don't know! I've tried to keep one of my vrbo ads with my own pictures to compare to the other unit with professional pictures, but I have a hard time decide if it's done any difference or not. Maybe that the unit with the new pics has picked up a bit i...

In the US washcloths are standard.
I know that some use black ones with "for the face" embroidered on them.

I now have very cheap washcloths that the cleaner disposes of when they get stained (or use for cleaning after they are washed).

Maybe an idea?

You are in deep, and I can tell that you're enjoying it! The one thing that will help you is a good "how does this place work" instruction book. It can save you a lot of extra work, especially if you send it to the renters before they arrive. Then they are keen to read, once they have arri...

I suggest that you join Top-Forums that is a Florida based forum that has mainly UK based Orlando owners as members.

After spending some time there, you will have more information to base your decision on.

Really any of your pics are great, But I've chosen the master bedroom as it reflects the seaside feeling. (Or maybe because it reminds me of my own color scheme, I don't know. But whatever you choose, I would go through the pics and remove some of them. Your kitchen is wonderful, but if you click on...

May these 'guests' never leave Denmark again... Am also amazed that this has been done by a Danish family. Usually the Scandinavians are very correct; at least my expereince in both renting out to them, visiting Denmark and having various Scandinavian friends. Couldn't be more correct.. I used to t...

As someone who stays in hotels every week I wonder if a sticker with "please don't disturb" could help also on a b&b?

At least you would absolutely, positively know that the guests don't want any intrusion.

Antonio,
I've looked through your whole invitation and it might be me, but when is it going to happen?

My calendar is full and signing up for something that I can't attend anyway doesn't make sense.
