We keep the same line and stick to our T&Cs, at least until the Portuguese Government decrees us to do something else. Our reason is simple: We were clear from the beginning, we recommended travel/cancellation insurance, and it is the guest and not us who can take out one. Their money, their cho...

Coronavirus, guests, cleaners, ...

Hi there, Have not been here for ages but can imagine CoViD19 is on your minds too. We have not had any cancellations so far, and are almost full from when we open until end June. We don't quite know if we should prepare for no season or almost normal season and decided to look to Singapore to see w...

My doubt is how long to keep details after a booking is finished. The main use is for repeat guests, we give them all a small discount and use old data to see ages of children, which house they stayed in, when they were here and that sort of stuff. With 10 years and now 7 houses we just don't rememb...

And emails?

I have looked a bit around as well, and my biggest doubt is what to do with your old emails? Most of the information of most people's bookings/enquiries can be found there, but cleaning out the whole lot? I have found that you are generally not required to go back and delete in backups: https://www....

Noah Brown

Got one from brownnoah231 at gmail. Sent to undisclosed recipients, very generic, and now wants to pay by "Euro cheque".

Have not been here for some time but thought you should know.

Scam that probably isn't

Here we go: I get 3 enquiries and a booking request through HA; 3 weeks in the summer + 2 during winter: All from the same person, who in one enquiry signs as Dr. A Name and Dr. B Name*). Looks a bit fishy, but - with 5 months to the Requested booking, this is a bit long for card fraud through yapst...

We must say we are happy with Sawdays - and agree it it generally the sort of guests we like to receive.

-My aunt had a sign in her hall: "Everyone here brings happiness - some by coming, others by leaving." Some guests remind me of that...

Interesting - Angelina has been writing to me, it is now two couples with 1-yo girls travelling. I wrote there was only something available the week after, but she wants to book anyway and asks for my bank details to book that way. Now, in this country there should be no risk in giving you IBAN, ple...

stork have you ever tried Mediahols (and their Eu counterparts Mediaferias. Mediafieren, Mediavacances ) they're not good for UK guests but I get a few European (Portuguese/French/German/Belgian) guests from them. They're quite cheap €89 a year - subscription only at the moment but they were bought...

It _was_ possible to make your own translation if you had an EU upgrade - I did that to German and Danish, and swapped with a member here to get an Italian translation. The reason an upgrade was worth considering was that you would get equivalent ranking on the extra sites, e.g. your gold listing fr...

When the new subscription model comes into force in July the international listing option bundles are being dropped (they will expire when the owners subscription expires). Instead any subscription on HA.uk will be shown on all 25 international sites - this includes OwnersDirect, VRBO, Fewo-Direkt,...

HA, commission listing and international sites

Hello there, Anyone knows how a HA commission listing works on the sister sites? In particular, if you have a HA_UK listing, how do you get it displayed similarly on FeWo-direkt (HA_DE) We have a multi-unit property and have been with HA for quite some years, with nice reviews and good response time...

How is HA group doing for you at the moment?

We almost thought it had gone belly-up.

Since the 2014 season they have been on a steep decline for us - we may well drop renewal come May.

Luckily we seem to make up for it from other sources, incl. our own site.

"may you live in interesting times"
