Agreed. We should help each other out. If you are willing to connect with more croatia property owners you should also visit www.iznajmljivaci20.com blog where we help each other with suggestions.

If I only saw this thread few years ago :) We also made a web booking app for our own needs and then made it available for everyone who is interested in it. It has basic functionalities but it is exactly what we needed so we are happy with it at the moment. Feel free to test drive it at www.velumren...

International award for tourism real mail scam

I received a real email in my mailbox the the other day. It is for 37th international award for tourist, hotel & catering industry in Madrid on 18th January. In short it says that we are the winner of 2012 contests for best everything :) and if would come to claim the reward. The thing that tipp...

On all documents that we send out to guests everyone can see check-in and check-out times which are at 2PM and 10AM. When guests come early we offer them a drink and make them feel like home while we prepare the apartments. We also have strict cancellation policies and don't confirm any reservations...

We thought about this in advance and have solar swimming pool heating. So when needed it comes almost at no cost, and only a few times on really bad weathers without any sun for days we had to heat it using other methods. If guests request it we turn it on but usually they don't as the summer season...

Let me just jump into this topic out of the blue :) We also make follow ups to guests. In the middle of the season we wait for about 2-3 days before following up, and out side our main season we expand it to 5-7 days. We never wait longer than that. We have prepared text for such replies but they lo...

@ccazes I also do not know how good a signed document is in legal practices. This is why we inform our guest about them but do not require them to sign anything. And once they come they usually leave their documents with us and we use that as leverage if something happens and they do not want to pay...

We usually work and require the payment on the arrival day of the guests so it won't make any difference to us.

The only problem may be for the guest as they'll have to have available the whole amount for their booking immediately.

I had to bookmark this to show it of to friends :D Classic.

We never had such attempts. Only a few where guests said that the man who talked to them offered some discount if they were talking to some other person. But we could easily check everything so we had no problems.

And he can be replaced if needed :) But I get your point. Anyway I'm sticking to my point of view and think it is ok to offer them a second chance.

Profile photo

I tried using search but didn't find any similar topic so I hope I'm not doubling an existing topic.

Is there a way to post a profile photo to this forum that is bigger than 6kb? I'm having a hard time getting the size of any image to be so small. Especially if I don't shrink it under 50px.

Yes that is correct, and I do not approve of that. That was just bad business and communication with their users. And they realized their mistake and apologized after (too long) time. In the end those people can be easily replaced by more competent ones. I don't see why because of some bad decisions...
