I stand by what Chianti has said and question this inference that Nicola or Dave were in any way 'chancers, desperadoes and dishonest'. They are two of the most sincere, committed, hard working, honest people I have ever met in this business. And without them, AoV wouldnt stand a chance of knowing h...

I am concerned that Paolo, the forum owner, and vrooje (the main admin) feel it acceptable to say 'i hope they paid you well for that last post' on a public board I found your post so deeply asinine, and your faith in this company based on the weird idea that it should be judged not on past and pre...

I am sad that in 'my short time' on this forum I have seen so much of the type of behaviour you have talked about Chianti. We have probably lost a lot of balanced views and worthwhile input from the people who felt they had to leave - but as you say, I'm back in the ring and moving forwards - forgi...

Zorro and Chianti, thanks for the responses. I do see where people are coming from on this one, and I guess its just because I have a fair bit of time on my hands at present that I dont mind contributing. This applies to big or small, Tizfata's site or AoV's array of sites. I dont mind. I do agree t...

Please re-read what I said. I didn't accuse any of you of being racist, but once again a fair post and question has been misinterpreted and my main point ignored. Lets all burn the Witch/Heretic/optimist etc eh? I have seen so much prejudice against these two companies on this forum and whenever I d...

I'm so glad I'm an optimist. I couldn't bear to see everything that happens as a negative. I did not say that every mistake was LMHers fault, just that had an alternative route been chosen, people on here would still have found a way to criticise/complain. I was pointing out that whatever AoV did, p...

so many people, so many priorities. Where does one start? How about well before launch date so that it all fixed and working properly before you take peoples cash for a service on which their business depends? Err.... AoV absorbed PG's databases when they purchased them. Thus there was no 'launch d...

I think they're working flat out on the changes, hence why no responses to emails. This is the impression I have got from emails from Nicola and AoV. Personally if they stop every time one of us presses the bell to alert them againt to the fact that things we've told them about (and that they've to...

Having become a little fed up at first with the seeming lack of progress by AoV re data migration etc, and then reinspired by their updates of what is happeneing behind the scenes; only to then become fed up again at the continued naysaying on this forum (despite the fact that things take TIME to re...

AoV to partner up with The Independent (UK 'broadsheet')

I have just received an email announcing that the next pairing in the ongoing PG/RL/AoV expansion story is to be with the respectable Independent Newspaper (a former UK broadsheet paper). Press release from AoV: We are delighted to announce our new partnership with www(.)independent.co.uk as the off...

Hey Bananacake,

I hadn't heard of this site. Looks very interesting, but at present I can ony find the B&B type agriturismos on it... (as the name implies I suppose). Still, it would be good if they could develop a Villa/apartment spin off? Shall we suggest it?

Thanks for posting a full and informative reply Nicola. It helps me/us understand that behind the scenes there is a hell of a lot going on and Rome, as they say, non e stato fatto in un giorno.

To be fair (because earlier i was a bit scathing of AoV), Nicola has said that migrating people over was a high priority and when i have emailed her suggestions for site improvements its clear from the reply that they will address these as soon as possible, but migration is their priority. I would s...
