Invoicing guests for HA Booking

I've not been in this situation before. Due to the pandemic I lost all my UK bookings for my villa but have been able to secure a few from EU guests via HA/AirBNB. I have a Portuguese guest arriving on 6 September, he booked/paid via HomeAway and has asked me to invoice him with his VAT number. I ha...

HA payout amount on email or web

Aghh, this is so frustrating! I had an enquiry on Homeaway and then from the same (French) guest on Airbnb. Turns out Airbnb is a bit cheaper than HA and I've agreed to match the price of HA, they originally enquired for 14 nights but my calendar hadn't updated at that time and the full dates were n...

I'm on a Facebook airbnb hosts group. It actually astounds me how many hosts are making minimal changes to their change overs and procedures, same day changeovers with only an hour extra either end, etc. Even happy to have guests leave food behind for them to use themselves, and tge same pillows bei...

Id get onto HA regardless. The guests could perhaps be made to prove that they are only visiting and not staying (proof of alternative accommodation perhaps) plus passport details from them for c19 track and trace, insurance, in case of emergency, etc. because of the current situation, extra cleanin...

So writing, You may wish to take out travel insurance to protect you from any losses associated with you needing to cancel your holiday. in our (covid) terms and conditions, is a bit of a waste of time :( J&K It appears to be just so. A gap in the market for owners to have insurance to protect ...

...I have an ongoing dispute following a cancellation where the CC co have taken the refund from Stripe/my bank account. I didn't know that Stripe was able to take a claw back of funds from one's own bank account, without so much as a 'by your leave'. It must be in the small print. I need to check....

I have also paid a refund to a guest in the past week, which I still have to follow up as the guest emailed he still hasn't received the payment. Strip were...

My head is spinning over this! I may have to just be blunt and say to all this season's guests that I have to change what I am doing again, and I will need to know asap or at least (say 3 weeks to arrival) if they are still keen to go ahead with the booking or cancel with full refund. I cant afford ...

Guests and Self Isolation

Here's one for you. A hypothetical. Your guests are in residence in your property but one or more is now showing symptoms of COVID. They have five days left before departure and flying home and, you have new guests due three days later (assuming you are observing hour changeovers, but makes little d...

Cancellation Terms

What are your current situation payment and cancellation terms for your bookings? My ‘normal’ terms are along the lines of; 50% of deposit refunded after seven days. - Ive now waived this until further notice. Then final balance and security deposit due eight weeks before arrival, non refundable on ...

Summer 2020 enquiries from HA

This week Ive now had three enquires from Portuguese families wanting the book the villa during May and August. The enquiry for May (Ive turned them down) - "I saw your lovely house in VRBO and i wonder if it is available for the period between 15 may till 18 may? we are a portuguese family of ...
