I contacted support at Independentowners and got an immediate and very detailed response. Said the problem was with an incorrect IP address somewhere along the line and offered to fix it, which they have done. Hats off to io support!

Booboo; yes Winter is peak time in Tenerife but the rental was probably what you'd expect to pay in Summer on the French Mediterranean. You have to be careful where you choose to stay; the SW corner, Christianos and Playa Los Americas makes Benidorm look like a retirement home!
