Hi Kevin, This is definitely coming. If a users downloads an app the listing site has a predatory connection to that customer for the life of the app. No more open searching and competition. I have heard of an owners group being set up to stop our voice being lost to this new technological move. If ...

Villa fraud link.
Mr Sharples talks about phishing and competitors. Interesting take on fraud and what HA are 'not' doing about it.

Windy you've hit the nail on the head. The reason small sites struggle is because owners don't give them a chance. I've even seen on here free sites getting a kicking when they're free!!!!! It is going to end up with all small sites going to the wall and being replaced by other small sites going to ...

I think that the problem is much bigger than people think on this forum. I also think that the Olympics will show this. I really fear fraudsters will take advantage of this 'opportunity'. I also fear that it will hit the news and that will most definitely affect us all. I am shocked at the lack of f...

Nstead we did receive notice from andy to alter pricing so not sure why you didn't i assume it was a note to all owners? I also looked at villarenters but they add on top of the prices you insert so it throws out your pricing across other listing sites. It means you have to have different prices or ...

I think this is more to do with security than anything else. There are definitely others out there some of which are cheaper than paypal. We use vipvillas who take less than paypal and i've had a newsletter saying they are integrating a system to allow users to use their own payment method after pro...

Redmen I feel your sentiment but I think it is the general fraud across all listing sites that is the problem. Found a new one. I set up a 'Google alert' for this and another story has broke in America on a blog. This time it is homeaway at the centre of it and the scam isn't a fraudulent property p...

I agree with the pount about agencies trying to take the ground on these issues but nonetheless all stories get read and leave private owners in a difficult position with a loss in overall confidence; be that justifiable or not. I just hope we don't have a flood of cases and subsequent bad press wit...

Will this affect bookings
Interesting article about fraud. I think this is going to grow this year with the Olympics and we are never far from some bad publicity I fear. Or am I being paranoid?
