My other dilemma is that to qualify as a FHL in England you have to achieve 105 nights pa, so the ninety day rule seems a bit perverse.
Whereas in Wales, we have to achieve 180 nights!

Re: Helpful Holidays

Just thought of a possible work-round

Go to your current bank and open another account in your name(s) and name it 'holiday account' and just use this to receive Unhelpful's monies and send them straight to the Ltd Co Account

Re: Helpful Holidays

What a bizarre situation  Can't really understand their thinking as legally in most banks T's & C's you can't operate a business from a private account. Maybe they should be renamed Unhelpful Holidays! We use STS as our agents in Snowdonia (or whatever the Welsh want to call it this...

Re: Bad Review

Taking into account your feedback I have revised our response below. I'm sorry to hear your stay at Rosehill did not meet your expectations. You are entitled to your own opinions however the majority of our reviews show that we keep the house to a high standard and is regularly assessed by our agen...

Re: Bad Review

It seems some guests seem to intentionally look around for the smallest issues they can find and it’s usually on the late autumn when the weather is bad and they are stuck in the house As our agent once said to us ... The autumn guests are always the worse They wait for the seasonal price drop, the...

Re: Bad Review

Dear Rachel I'm sorry to hear your stay at Rosehill did not meet your expectations and hope the late autumn storms did not spoil your holiday. We have spent a significant amount of time and money on the property which was in fact completely refitted and refurbished inside and in 2016 so your commen...

Sorry, me again

Just go on their 'brilliant' website and try to find somewhere to stay.

It's *very* hard work IMHO!

Re: Visit Wales

We list our Welsh properties with STS, a local agent.
Part of their T's & C's was that we had regular rating visits from VW
When we moved from Porthmadog to Barmouth I dug my heels in and refused the VW nonsense as, as far as I could tell, VW had given us no benefit whatsoever.

Ignorance is far better ..................
That's my take on it.

If they've broken the terms of their booking, they can't complain if something goes wrong.
If they leave and all is good, what's the problem?

I need to change the URL's in my signature so logged in to do so and pressed 'submit' to be told "too many URL's the maximum number is one!

How come I currently have four but I'm only allowed one - have the rules changed since I joined in 2007

Re: Tripadvisor Update your status - business or consumer

This is to do with a new EU directive known as the Omnibus Directive, this is from Tripadvisor support pages: What are the recent changes to EU/UK consumer protection law? New laws in the European Union (EU) and United Kingdom (UK) (often referred to as the Omnibus Directive or New Deal for Consume...
