TRAVELNEST

Hello - I have heard about TRAVELNEST.com, an online service for rentals management. On the face of it, it looks good and not TOO ridiculously pricey. Has anyone any experience of using TRAVELNEST?

DISABLED ACCESS GITE

Hello - being a wheelchair user myself who had really struggled finding accessible accommodation, we designed the renovation of the ground floor of our own old gite property around disabled guests. It does not need THAT much variation if starting from scratch; just a clear understanding of what's ne...

FEE PAYMENT METHODS

Hello - we have two apartments in Collioure and have been letting them for 10 years or so. Throughout that time we have processed fee receipts and deposit repayments through PAYPAL but this is getting too expensive. Fees are in euros and we have euro bank accounts in both France and the UK. Does any...

PROJECT MANAGER

Hello - in 2006, we bought an old property needing a full renovation. We are based in England and had no knowledge of the area. We used a local architect found on the internet, who designed the plans and project managed the works, and well established local builders chosen by the architect after ten...

FROM A WHEELCHAIR USER

Hi - in short, regret No. BUT, don't let that put you off. I advise you just to decide where you, or whomever, wants to go and either ask for help when there (with enough horsepower, you can get most places) or simply see what you can that you can get your chair around. Regarding places to stay, rat...

Plant pots

Hi - thanks for this. We are looking for something up to 80cm/1m. They are for orange trees. We have been looking at fibre-crete type materials and plastic. We have already discovered that terra-cotta and straight concrete are not even very cold/wet/frost-proof...

GARDEN ITEMS - LARGE PLANTERS

Hello - we are in department 66 and wish to buy several large planters/plant pots for the garden of our house. These can be either plastic, ceramic or fibreglass. Those we have found seem very expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions/knowledge of sources either local or internet? Thanks. Peter. :?:

DISABLED GUESTS

Hello - We have an accessible property in Collioure and several guests have asked about accessible vehicles. Does anyone have an idea where one can hire a wheelchair accessible vehicle in Department 66 as we cannot find anything? This the type of small van with a ramp for the chair to go up; like th...

WIRELESS INTERNET

Hello We have a rental property in Collioure and clients are requesting WIFI access. Rather than get a phone line/broadband, I'm considering getting an internet access dongle, like a USB memory stick but with a SIM card in it, so clients can access the internet att their cost with us buying infrastr...

TRIPADVISOR LISTING

Hello all

While not strictly specific to France, we have just put up an advertisement listing on the rental property section on TRIPADVISOR.CO.UK. It's too early to tell how effective it is but thought it might be helpful to know about. Peter.

YOUR ENQUIRY

Hello

From what you write, I suggest Collioure in the Pyrenees-Orientales. It's got it all, I think...but I would say that as we have a place there.

Other than that, Biarritz is fun too.

Have fun wherever you choose.

HEATING

Hi - a system that is gaining popularity, but about which I know little apart from hearsay, is geothermal. Pipework is buried in the ground and draws heat from it. Just a thought if you have the space.

DISABLED GITES

Dear John We are finalising a wheelchair accessible villa at present. We approched the Conseil Generale about grants and, sadly, got nowhere. I think you need to be a resident to get the money..? I agree about the difficulty in finding accessible accommodation and will be letting ours from spring 20...

TRIPADVISOR LISTING

Hi

Read your post yesterday and saw this today...

It looks like the owner has bought a link to the site as a hotel would.

Good luck.
