Hi We use a company called Spick n Span Algarve as managers for our apartment in Vilamoura and have done since 2008. They meet and greet our guests, arrange airport transfers and baby equipment hire, clean and carry out or arrange emergency repairs or maintenance. Can't recommend them highly enough....

Re: Pure Holiday Homes
" Simply reply YES to this email or call the Renewal Team on T: +44 (0)1753 569 880 to receive further information." I have had phone calls to my mobile phone from this number every day for the past three months - and when I try to answer there is never anyone there. I've emailed and aske...

There is of course another alternative, which is to use the National road. I suspect most people are doing this, as on the road between Faro and Monte Gordo, where the tolls are in operation, we only saw another two cars. Yet this is pushing people on to what was recently deemed one of the most dan...

Been reading all these comments with interest, in the hope I can work out what to tell our clients who hire cars. It's good to hear that the car hire companies are doing something at last. Though when we picked up our hire car from 15 to 22 April (from Guerin at Faro airport) nothing was said to us ...

Our lawyer and our management company went through the process of registering our apartment in Vilamoura for us early last year. We had no visits and never heard anything more so have to assume we're all legal and everything is OK. We have the relevant certificate displayed in the apartment and the ...

Hi Olive and welcome. If you click on Olive's link and then go to the next page (or go here http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/Var/s/312/fa/find.squery/startrow/41 ) you'll just get a list - no photos etc. You do get the full ad if you click on the individual line. Same happens if you search for Algar...

Hi Phil Thanks for the update. I too saw the bit about renting through a Portuguese company and wondered.... It helped make up our minds about how we rent. We had pretty much decided to do it ourselves from now on anyway just didn't want to cut off a possible route of rentals completely - now I thin...

Forgot that La Vache, but of course it's the same in Portugal. We have to take our rubbish to the nearest public bin, which fortunately for us is just round the corner from the complex entrance. Guess the difference here in Scotland is that the public bins aren't designed to take household rubbish. ...

My sister's wheelie bin was stolen recently too. Apparantly the local yobos set fire to them to sniff the fumes instead of glue which they can't buy nowadays. And even though they said it would take over 2 weeks to get a replacement she wasn't offered counselling! When she asked what she was suppose...

Hi Phil and welcome to the forum from another relative newcomer - with an apartment in Vilamoura (where's yours?). Like you, this is our only Portuguese property but I still can't work out if we need a licence or not. Our solicitor never mentioned anything about a licence but we intend to ask again ...
